Regional Advisory Councils

Regional Advisory Councils

The WCRS as a global organization must be able to access and carry out our global initiatives through our international Founder/Trustee group leadership and our Regional Advisory Councils (RACs). The diverse geographic and cultural makeup of our leadership is perfectly aligned with our goals of being seen as a global company.

All healthcare is local. In that spirit, the WCRS as a worldwide organization will establish and work through Regional Advisory Councils (RAC) that will be comprised of local and regional recognized leadership from 6 geographic areas of the world. Our intention is to work and carry out policy through these local and regional organizations and not around them.

RAC Structure

Our leadership structure consists of a Central Board that will work through an International Board of Governors comprised of a central board member that is the President of the Board of Governors who works with 6 regional Governors heading up our 6 Regional Advisory Councils (RACs).

Governance of a global company can best gain operational efficiency by taking a broad geographical and cultural group and breaking it down into decentralized regions, forming effective and agile teams to help direct and translate global policy to our local members in their communities. RACs will be instrumental in providing us with local and regional credibility as well as sounding boards for feedback on needed initiatives to the central board.

Refractive Surgeons who practice in each region of the world are in the best position to guide WCRS programs according to the needs of their region. This will give us immediate global visibility.

Successful cross-border international operations will require astute global awareness and cultural fluency. To work seamlessly across the barriers of culture, language, and geography, we will depend heavily on the advice and participation of our multi-national Founder, Trustee, and Visionary group and our Regional Advisory Councils.
